Nonmetal - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nonmetal or non-metal is a chemical element that does not have the properties of a metal. Some are gases including: hydrogen, helium, oxygen, nitrogen, fluorine, neon or radon and many others. An example of a solid that is a nonmetal is sulfur. It is yellow and not shiny at all. An example of a liquid that is a nonmetal is bromine. It is red. A non metal is also a good insulator for heat and cold.
1) name the metal present in the following basis : a
Explanation: For 1: Metals are defined as the elements which loose electrons to attain stable electronic configuration. After loosing electrons, the metals usually form positive ions known as ions. Metals Found in Rocks | Facts about Minerals | DK Find Out
Some metals are held inside rocks as minerals. The rock or mineral that holds the metal is called an ore. An ore is heated with chemicals until it melts and the pure metal separates out as a liquid. The liquid then cools and hardens. A few metals, such as gold, silver, and copper can be found in pure form as metal …
Living Science 2019 2020 for Class 8 Science Chapter 4
Answer: When metal M 3 is reacted with a salt of metal M 4 then it displaces metal M 4 from its salt solution and salt of metal M 3 is formed. But when metal M 4 is reacted with a salt of metal M 3, no reaction takes place. Hence, metal M 3 is more reactive than metal M 4, because it displaced metal M 4 from its salt solution but metal M 4 could not displace metal M 3 from its salt solution.
Class 10th Science Chapter 3 Metals and Non-Metals
When a metal (usually 1, 2 or 3 electrons in outermost shell) reacts with a non-metal (usually 5, 6 or 7 electrons in outermost shell), transfer of electrons takes place from metal atoms to the non-metal atoms and an ionic bond is formed.

The Periodic Table Of Metals And Nonmetals | Science Trends
Apr 03, 2018· The periodic table of metals and nonmetals can be broken down to give you a sense of each element’s characteristics. Metals, nonmetals, and metalloids make up the periodic table, with metals constituting the large majority of all metals. The Periodic Table contains a lot of useful information on the elements. Using it, you should be able to classify all the elements in different ways.
